Early Childhood Education
The most critical time in a child’s development is from birth to age three. This is when we have the opportunity to make the biggest impact on young, budding minds. Working together, parents and educators can encourage a strong appetite for learning and model how to build lasting relationships. All children deserve a safe, secure, and stimulating environment in which to grow and develop. We are excited to invest in our next generation!
Family Literacy Connection provides early intervention services designed to prevent and reduce the risk of child maltreatment by promoting the well-being of the entire family. Giving a hand up to less privileged families creates innovative opportunities for students at both ends of the learning continuum. Programs focus on a holistic approach for the family, providing educational training for adults and pre-school and school age children, parenting classes, parent and child enrichment activities, and Parents as Teachers home visits. Family assessments determine service needs in order for the family to meet their goals. All services are designed to build on existing family strengths, increase the stability of families. increase parental confidence and competence in their parenting ability, and enhance overall family functioning to prevent initial or subsequent child maltreatment.
